The application of gender equality is one of the development indicators identified by the United Nations organizations.

Countries are therefore striving to adapt their laws and policies to achieve this goal.

The quota system is one of those mechanisms that seek to reduce gender disparities and promote women's participation in politics, given their participation in the conduct of their country's affairs.

Algeria, like other countries, adopted several political reforms, the most important of it was the amendment of the Constitution in 2008, which was followed by Organic Law 12-03, which approved the quota system and the constitutional amendment in 2016, which recognized the principle of gender equality in all spheres of life.

From its effective contribution in the war of liberation to the battle of construction.

The application of the quota system for Algeria has achieved aqualitative leap in the Arab countries and ranked 25th globally.

However, this progress must be accompanied by an effective political participation of women.
