الانتحار و المشكلات الاجتماعية : دراسة تحليلية في ضوء نتائج التحقيقات الجنائية في مدينة الديوانية

Abstract EN

Suicide is considered one of the new phenomenon in the Iraqi society which is known for its strict conventions, customs and traditions that prohibit such phenomenon .

This society was known to consider such a behavior as a great shame on the person and stigmatize him.

According to its great affect on our society, many studies have been done on this issue in order to conclude the ideal outcome that helps us to deal with this phenomenon and to reduce the number of suicides as well.

After clarification of the local and national circumstances of this phenomenon we found out that it isn’t found in Iraq as well as in Diwanya district previously.

This phenomenon was studied depending on criminal investigations made after each suicide crime or an attempt to commit a suicide ,those cases reached ( 41 ) divided into (24) case committed by women and (14) by men ,the rest are suspect between accidental crimes and an attempt of suicide.

To reach the best results, a scientific method was followed in the procedures of the research accurately the analytic approach was the best because the sample was targeted , its details are well known .We have got them from police stations in villages ,towns and cities.

Also we have followed historical and comparative approach for the perfect benefit as well as the need of the research for it.

Other approached were followed such as statistical methods.

The research have concluded a series of results :  The majority of persons who committed suicide and who attempted to commit a suicide are young people whose ages are between ( 10 years -30 years ) ,their rate is ( 90,24% ) and it is a dangerous rate which rings the danger bell to move actively in order to reduce and stop such phenomenon.

 Suicide crimes in all districts ,villages and towns are of the same level except in remote countryside areas which still keep old traditions and social relations, the rate is very low ( 53,65 ) while in the center is ( 46,34%)  Media was influential in facilitate suicide crimes through materials introduced that give him variety of ways of committing suicides using materials available inside his home and easy to use.

 Despite the prohibition of the Islamic low concerning such crimes ,this prohibition is clear for all people, but ignoring the Islamic prohibition was great that’s why we are seeing many youths committing those crimes.

This guides us to conclude : the religious impulse becomes weaker and weaker For it gives us a sign of retreating of the religious media programs influence in rising the level of society awareness .

The most important recommendations that resulted are : * Legislation of restricts on using social media and satellite broadcasting and declare how to use them .

Also the continuous watching of the media and what is introduced through them as many countries do.

* We put series of steps concerning the society and its circumstances, guided by the WHO plan to reduce suicides using five or ten-year plan.

* Remove all the injustice that citizens were suffering from ,that can be done through improving the environment in which he lives and the level of services introduced by increasing the special projects and the economic standard.

These things helps families members to live peacefully looking forward to a better future.
