English Abstract
Five specimens from the stomach of Turkey and five specimens of Pigeon stomach in were fixed in neutral buffered formalin (10%) for 48 hours.
After that the procedure of preparation for histological sections were done and colored by hematoxylin and eosin.
The examination of the tissues demonstrated that the mucus membrane of gizzard of the turkey was folded and covered by a simple cuboidal epithelium with keratinization on its surface, the lamina propria consisted by delicate connective tissue extended to submucosa, while the muscular layer was thick and formed by inner smooth muscle fibers arrangement and outer longitudinal arrangement.
The histological structure of the glandular stomach of the Pigeon was formed by the mucus membrane containing long gastric folds coated by simple columnar epithelium, the lamina propria was containing gastric glands formed by lobules and these glands were lined by simple cuboidal cells.
The tunica muscularis was thin and consisted by internal circular while externally was longitudinal and both were smooth muscle fibers.
