دراسة الفروق بين ذوي الإعاقة البصرية في المجتمعين المصري والكويتي في بعض المؤشرات النفسية

Abstract EN

The study aimed to determine the degree of variance with respect to satisfaction with life, self-efficacy, depression, and psychological loneliness among a sample of persons with casual disabilities according to nationality, gender, the cause of visual disability, and history of injury.

In order to verify the hypotheses of the study, a set of questionnaires including the demographic questionnaire, satisfaction with life scale, self-efficacy scale, beck depression inventory, and psychological loneliness scale has been used.

After fulfilling the psychometric requirements of the set, data was collected from a sample of: (1) Egyptian group comprising (N= 59) persons with visual disabilities (29 males, 30 females), whose ages ranged from 35 to 42 years, with a mean of 38.43 (SD= 3.45); (2) Kuwaiti group comprising (N= 25) persons with visual disabilities (15 males, 10 females), whose ages ranged from 32 to 50 yeast, with a mean of 32.04 (SD= 5.33).

The findings of the study were as follows: (1) there were significant between the Egyptians and Kuwaitis with visual disabilities in both satisfaction with life and self-efficacy; (2) there were no differences between males and females with visual disabilities in satisfaction with life, self-efficacy, depression, and psychological loneliness; (3) the satisfaction with life and self- efficacy varied according to the cause of visual disability and history of the injury.
