Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying vocation, both lexically and contextually.

It also examines the manifestations of vocation as well as its rhetorical purposes in the poetry of Abdel-Kareem Al-Qiasi Al-Andalusi on the levels of meaning and phrase.

Further, it highlights the aesthetic appeal of Al-Andalusi’s versing and style as well as the timely functionality of his usage of vocation as one of the pillars which he constructs his poetry upon and uses as an addressing device, turning vocation from composition to reporting style, which has multiple meanings depending on purposes, contexts, and verbal communications such as praise, exclusivity, exclamation, belonging, etc.

Moreover, the study attempts at uncovering the various forms and types of addressees such as possessed, semipossessed, intended, and unintended nouns.

As Al-Andalusi’s legacy is huge, the study addresses diverse samples of it in a way that gives a representative image about trials and crises he went through his actual life.

He would address his family, friends, home, loving ones, and critics, unfolding his pain, belonging, and replies to his critics.

The approach of this study is descriptive in nature.

Through this descriptive approach, vocation and its stylistic elements are semantically and structurally described
