Abstract EN

The Sacred concept has remained the most important topics that Arkoun considered as being unthoughtable and as an told story in the Arab and Islamic heritage,.

It was necessary in the opinion of Arkoun to bring this concept back to historical reality, i.e.: removing holiness condescension imposed on it .

He has addressed this anthropologically through violence, rituals, myth and through special oral and written words perceptions, between mind, symbol image (icon) and conscience.

This research stems out from this point of view seeking to verify that the mind is a cultural product that is linked to reality of space and time and not substantial condescending on reality.

He considered that the problem of the Arab-Muslim mind lies in its association with the substantial mind that is governed and controlled by revelation, i.e.

mind final preferentiality is doomed to revelation.

This led to make Islamic thought confined to the Quranic text circle, as well as what followed of interpretations and schools of jurisprudence that disabled Islamic mind from overcoming this dogmatism circle, where mind remains as a prisoner to a legendary understanding, whether to: history or language, and that the link between Arabic language and scripture gave it a sacred nature that hindered its development and hindered it from keeping pace with special variables and social interaction processes.

Consequently, Arkoun assumed the circulatory of the relationship between thought, language and history, and that the controversial idea from such triangular circle deeply governed and controlled all of its intellectual production, and that assuming this relationship negates automatically the opposite or its fallacy because of its spontaneous accumulation.

Finally, the research Concluded that Arkoun focused on the issue of removing holiness and transcendence ftom laws prevailing in Muslim societies since the very beginning of the history of Islam, which is a holiness that still engulfs huge volumes of fundamentalist movements today, and constitutes one of the major dilemmas in the salvation of the Islamic mind from its negative effects.
