Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the social factors that lead to juvenile delinquency in Jordan.

The study sample comprised (100) juveniles accommodated in Juvenile Care Centers in the cities of Amman, Zarqa and Irbid.

To achieve the study objectives, the statistical analysis program (SPSS) was used in addition to the comprehensive social survey approach.

The study found that the majority of juvenile delinquents in Jordan are in the age group of (15-18), with low income, and most of them live in large families.

The educational level of their parents is mostly at the university level.

The study showed that the most common crimes committed by juveniles were theft and drug abuse.

Also, one of the findings of the study was that juvenile delinquents were subjected to harsh treatment that could sometimes be associated with violence and aggression.
