The Qur’an has emphasized the importance of addressing others politely as this has a very positive impact on the human soul and on building good relations between people.

The Holy Qur’an asked sons and father to adhere to politeness when addressing each other due to the superior relation that connects them together.

Prophet Ibrahim – peace be upon him – is a good example to follow in this context.

The politeness in speech was his axiom with his Father Azzer despite his impiety, toughness, and faithlessness.

He addressed his son Ismail –peace be upon him - in a similar way.

Ibrahim’s style in addressing his father and son is the best model for all the fathers and sons nowadays where the family relations weakened.
