Abstract EN

In this paper, the relationship between the junction temperature and the forward bias voltage of the high power LED is presented by drawing the I-V curve of the HP-LED at six different temperatures.

The mathematical model was derived from the I-V curve of the high power LED, which was modeled within the Curve Fitting library in the MATLAB software environment.

to obtain an exponential model, which is the Shockley model.

and then the relationship between junction temperature and the forward bias voltage was determined at constant current level, which is also drawn.

the linear mathematical model of the first order was derived from the - curve to obtain the relationship .

The visual interfaces are built to display results and curves using the LabVIEW software environment.

A thermodynamic model was also presented to study the dynamic thermal behavior of the LED-HP to determine the junction's temperature.

The simulation results showed that the maximum junction temperature is 123.72°C under the following limit conditions: Ambient temperature 25°C and normal convection conditions h=10W/m2k The thermal source power is 1W.
