Abstract EN

Medinah Munawwarah witnesses several seasons, where the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi) is crowded with visitors including pilgrims and Umrah visitors.

The two holy months of Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah are considered to be the most intense seasons in the number of visitors to Medina, where hundreds of thousands of visitors gather in the Prophet's Mosque.

As a result of the eagerness of pilgrimage and visitors to pray in the mosque and to provide greeting to the Prophet's (Peace Be Upon Him) Grave.

The pilgrimage season (Hajj) is the second most peak season to visit the Prophet's Mosque after the month of Ramadan.

The aim of this study is to compare the statistics of the crowds on the visit area in the Prophet's Mosque during the two holy months of Ramadan and Hajj, to identify the current situation.

This study was prepared in cooperation with the Center of Excellence in Transport and Crowd Management at Umm Al-Qura University under the supervision of a team from the Ministry of Higher Education.

The numbers, flow rates and speed of crowd movements in the visit area, as well as the time spent visiting the Prophet's tomb, were observed during the peak seasons of Ramadan and Hajj during the peak days of each season, most importantly the two days of Eids and the twenty seventh night of Ramadan.

As well as comparing the numbers, flow rates, and speed of crowds between the seasons of Ramadan and Hajj.
