Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze the reality of sustainable development in Algeria during the period 1992-2015, by presenting the historical evolution of the concept of sustainable development, some basic concepts related to it, and a series of indicators of sustainable development related to economic, social and environmental aspects, In order to monitor the level of progress made by Algeria.

It was clear the improvement of some indicators of sustainable development in Algeria, especially those related to the economic dimension.

However, the situation was not the same for social and environmental conditions as evidenced by high levels of poverty, illiteracy, poor health services and high levels of environmental pollution.
