Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to identify the efficiency of counseling program to improve some skills of assertive behavior among children with mild intellectually disability.

The study sample consisted of 16 pupils with mild intellectual disabilities, between the ages of 9-12 years from public schools with programs for intellectual disability in Riyadh city.

This study adopted the use of assertive behavior by Abouzaid (2014), and an behavioral program by researcher which depended on a behavioral techniques such as modeling the interactive video, formation, role play, reinforcement, initiation and instructions, Reinforcing Assertive in improving assertive behavior.

The time scale of applying the session is eight to ten weeks, two sessions per a week, lasting for 40 or 45 minutes.

The findings led to the effectiveness of counseling program to improve the skills of assertive behavior among students.
