The goal of current research aimed to identify the obstacles to teaching philosophical materials (Philosophy.

Sociology.

Psychology) at the secondary level from the viewpoint of teachers and educational supervisors in the city of Damascus.

The current research attempted to answer the following questions: 1-What are the main obstacles to the philosophical teaching materials from the viewpoint of teachers and educational supervisors? 2-Are there any significant differences at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean estimates of members of the research sample (educational supervisors and teachers) to teach philosophical material constraints due to the variables: gender.

and years of experience? The researcher used the descriptive approach and prepared a questionnaire validated through Cronbach’s alpha.The reliability coefficient reached(0.88).

The research was applied to a sample consisting of (40) teachers and (12) supervisors whose specialization was the teaching of philosophy.

The results showed that the obstacles to teaching philosophical materials were moderate with an average account (3.32) according to the five-point Likert scale measure and percentage (40.66%).

There were no statistically significant differences based on the variable of the gender,experience or scientific qualifications.

Some suggestions were provided like linking Philosophy to a real-life , activating the use of educational and technological means in teaching the material, and working to educate the community and the family about the importance of philosophy in order not to leave the material neglected.
