Abstract EN

The research aimed to place the Psychological profile for selection of the higher levels players in the sport of rugby and to identify the differences between the players rugby offenders and defenders in the psychological characteristics profile, the research sample was consisted of (42) players from rugby players were selected purposively from Alexandria team Rugby, the exploratory study was conducted on (12) player, while the basic study was conducted on 30 players and two scales were used for data collection, the emotional traits scale and a list of Fahrenberg of personality.

The results revealed to Psychological profile for selection of the higher levels players in the sport of rugby; it was also identified standard levels for the psychological profile characteristics of high levels players of rugby.

The researcher recommended that, the coaches should apply the psychological profile to know the distinctive psychological characteristics of the rugby players.
