Abstract EN

This study examines Saudi-US relations since Trump’s ascension to the White House and the rise of Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh.

It finds that the personal relations between Trump and bin Salman shifted relations between the two countries from being strategic to special semi-personal relations, which could have serious consequences for both Saudi Arabia for Washington's interests in the Middle East.

The study investigates the nature of the alliance between Riyadh and Washington, which was established in 1945 and has remained consistent despite the major crises that have threatened its termination over the years.
