In this work, we study the representation of otherness in Maïssa Bey's novel: Pierre Sang Papier ou Cendre, published in 2008.
This subversive text brings a critical and ironic look at the colonial enterprise and its civilizing claims in Algeria.
The author attempts to take an objective look at the Algerian-French past through the innocent eye of a child character to whom she attributes the role of immortal witness.
This novel uses irony as a discursive technique to oppose the discourse of the Other and to deconstruct it.
The image of otherness is constructed in the text through a serious investigation based on a rich and varied documentation, supported by an imaginary that draws on the collective memory to reach a different historical truth.

Nous étudions, dans ce travail, la représentation de l’altérité le roman de Maïssa Bey : Pierre Sang Papier ou Cendre, publié en 2008.
Ce texte subversif est porteur d’un regard critique et ironique sur l’entreprise coloniale et ses prétentions civilisatrices en Algérie.
L’auteure y tente de porter un regard objectif sur le passé algéro-français à travers l’œil innocent d’un personnage enfant auquel elle attribue le rôle de témoin immortel.
Ce roman use de l’ironie comme une technique discursive pour s’opposer au discours de l’Autre et le déconstruire.
L’image de l’altérité est construite dans le texte à travers une enquête sérieuse basée sur une documentation riche et variée, soutenue par un imaginaire qui puise dans la mémoire collective pour atteindre une vérité historique autre.
