Abstract EN

This paper approaches the cover book as a paratexte of contemporary Algerian novel.

We have chosen a narrative text titled “ Al Ihtirak” written by the novelist Said Hashimi.

The colors of the cover image represent a revolutionary painting of the suffering of Algerian people.

They contributed to reborn the idea of revolution days.

We are interested to compare between the textual paratexte and the narrative text, with a theorical approach of French critic Gerard Gennete in his book “Seuils”.
