Abstract EN

In recent years, sedentary lifestyle has become a distinct behavioral concept with many deleterious effects on health independently of physical activity.

Sedentary behavior is recognized as a risk factor for mortality and morbidity regardless of the level of physical activity.

So physical activity and sedentary lifestyle are recognized as important determinants of the health status of individuals and can coexist in the same individual.

In the same way, the practice of physical activity and the reduction of sedentary behaviors are associated with a reduction of morbidity and in this sense determine important preventive axes.

The conditions of modern life favor sedentary behavior, often associated with eating habits leading to weight gain.

Therefore; it is imperative to reduce sedentary behavior from childhood, because the behaviors that are established during childhood are determinants of the health of the future adult.

Abstract FRE

Mots clés: sédentarité, obésité, activité physique, inactivité physique, prévention Astract: In recent years, sedentary lifestyle has become a distinct behavioral concept with many deleterious effects on health independently of physical activity.
