The ad hoc international criminal courts have presented a golden opportunity for the evolution of international criminal law.
The progressive jurisprudence of these courts has made a significant contribution to crimes against humanity by clarifying the following; abandoning the link with an armed conflict, the definition of the context in which crimes are committed, the massive and systematic attack, and the civilian population.
These advances are proof of the slow but steady progress of international criminal justice towards the establishment of an effective and equitable international legal order where respect for human rights, at all times, is its main concern

Les tribunaux pénaux internationaux ont présenté une opportunité en or pour l’évolution du droit international pénal .La jurisprudence progressiste des TPI a apporté un apport significatif en matière des crimes contre l’humanité par les précisions apportées à : l’abandon du lien avec un conflit armé, la définition du contexte dans la quel les crimes sont commis, l’attaque massive et systématique, et la population civile.
Ces avancées sont la preuve de la marche lente mais sure de la justice pénale internationale vers l’édification d’un ordre juridique internationale efficace et équitable ou Le respect des droits de l’homme, en tout temps est sa première préoccupation
