Abstract EN

The congruity between the Qur’an’s verses and chapters is one of the demonstrations of the rhetorical miraculousness of the Holy Qur’an.

Of such congruity is the aptness between an oath and what it is set upon.

Many interpreters have reasoned that whatever object is sworn upon is an indication to its holiness or importance, regardless of the placement of such object of an oath, and regardless to the relation between what is swon by and what is sworn upon.

This research aims to reveal the similar aspects between what is sworn by and what is sworn upon, and to prove a strong correlation between the two, wherein if what is sworn by is misplaced, the meaning and eloquence of the text would be deficient.

This study will also mention the positions of scholars regarding the reasonings behind swearing by and swearing upon things, as well as the congruity aspects of such oaths.

Moreover, multiplied oaths are found in twenty-one places, contained within twenty chapters of the Holy Qur’an
