الأمطار في منطقة جازان : خصائصها و تأثيرها على التنمية الزراعية

Abstract EN

Rainfall are concerning as a mean climatic element effecting agricultural development in Jazan province, however, it is difficult to rely on total value, of the rainfall for on agricultural activities in the province.

The study deals with analysis of characteristics of rainfall and their impact on agricultural as one of the most important sources water for irrigation.

The aim of the study is to identify and analysis the most striking feature that characterize the rainfall and their relation with agricultural crops production, in order to classify crops according to the amount of rainfall.

The study adopted a quantitative method for analysis the monthly data of rainfall in the Jazan province during the period from 1970 -2008.

Finally, the result of the study shows that there a spatial variation of rainfall between mountain and costal areas in Jazan province.

Several recommendations are presented that would be contributed to increasing the effectiveness of rainfall for agricultural development in Jazan province.
