Translation occupies a very important place in cultural diversity and coexistence between peoples and civilizations.

However, actually translation, in the Arab world is facing many difficulties when transferring towards Arabic.

Among the most evident questions when translating, terminology seems to be the one that needs a specific attention.

This research investigates the issue of linguistic term translation into Arabic language.

It aims to know the reality of terminological translation in the Arab world and the biggest problems that translators face during the transmission of the foreign linguistic term.

The terminology is an interdisciplinary field that developed thanks to the contribution of linguistics, logic, ontology, epistemology and informatics.

Being a relatively recent discipline, “terminology” has been the subject of heated scientific debate.

We have touched on the crucial points of this debate: the definition of the discipline (its branches, the condition of the term, the standardisation and the normalisation) and its relation with linguistics, translation and lexicology.
