We seek through this research to evaluate the two most important theories that studied the arabic linguistic structure in the heritage; the theory of the grammatical factor and the theory of synthesis; the grammatical factor theory embodied the superior scientific thought of the arab scholars in the field of analysis, and the theory of synthesis was a quantum leap in the arabic language lesson, moving it from the field of analysis to the field of composition, and it was the first theory that referred to the concept of "the grammar of the text ", through the concepts that are related mainly to the text as an integral linguistic unit instead of the sentence, and despite all this both theories have some shortcomings observed by contemporary researchers, and we will try through this research to discover the scientific thought of the finest arab scholars embodied through these two theories, while benefiting from their mistakes by reviewing the criticisms directed to them, and try to comment on them if necessary that.
