Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the motives and strategies of internationalization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as to review the factors of their success and failure, and to illustrate the most important risks caused by the penetration of foreign markets using a survey including 51 SMEs from Relizane witch had been treated By SPSS v.24 program.

The study concluded that the internationalization of SMEs requires a strong financial, functional and strategic structure that allows the designing of effective approaches to exploit the opportunities offered by the business environment, and ensures also greater flexibility to confront the risks that threaten their stability and sustainability .

In this regard, it was necessary to install vigilant cells that monitor environmental shifts as well as trace and analyze the target markets dynamics.
