Sheikh Hadj M'hamed Ben Youcef T'FAYYECH, nicknamed the pole of imams (1827-1914), is an Algerian encyclopedic scholar, from Beni Iesguen in the wilaya of Ghardaia, Scholars came from everywhere to take advantage of his great science.
Many of them were his most fervent disciples .He left us a rich heritage of books that reached the number of 103 items, dealing with different scientific disciplines.
He had taken positions and personal choices in several language issues that were in perfect harmony with the major ancient and modern Arab linguists.
Also, he sometimes distinguishes himself from these scholars, by offering a different view.
The sheikh also discussed issues related to the exegesis of the Holy Qur'an, sometimes criticizing the positions taken by some scholars such as Az-Zamakhshari and Al- Baydhaoui.

Le Cheikh Hadj M'hamed ben Youcef T'FAYYECH, surnommé le pôle des imams (1827- 1914), est un savant encyclopédiste algérien, originaire de Beni iesguen dans la wilaya de Ghardaïa.
Les savants venaient de toute part pour bénéficier de sa grande science, dont plusieurs ont été ses plus fervents disciples.
Il nous a laissé un riche patrimoine qui a atteint le nombre de 103 ouvrages, traitant de différentes disciplines scientifiques.
Il avait pris des positions et des choix personnels par rapport à plusieurs problèmes linguistiques qui étaient en parfaite harmonie avec les plus grands linguistes arabes, anciens et moderne.
Il s'est aussi parfois démarqué de ces savants, en proposant un avis différent.
Le cheikh a aussi débattu les problèmes relatifs à l'exégèse du saint Coran, en critiquant parfois les positions prises par quelques-uns tels que Az-zamakhchari et Al-Baydhaoui.
