Abstract EN

Children's attention to electronic games that play through the digital devices developed as a result of rapid changes in the field of computer and the internet, through the researcher's knowledge of many researches and studies, i noticed that scientists have divided into two groups on the impact of the pupils' play of electronic games between optimistic and pessimistic, in contrast to previous studies on the effects of these games on selective attention, the researcher's interest to know some aspects that were overlooked by these studies, in order to achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared a questionnaire for the detection of students practicing and non-practicing electronic games.

the researcher also prepared a computerized test for selective attention.

the sample of the application was 437 primary students, (220) for males and 217 for females.

they were selected by random stratified method.

after applying the research tools and statistical data analysis using statistical methods correlation (pearson coefficient, one sample t-test, cronbachs alpha, independent samples t-test, two- way analysis of variance, scheffe test) the researcher reached the following results : 1 - the impact of electronic games on the selective attention of primary school pupils for the whole sample.

2- there are statistically significant differences in the effect of electronic games on the selective attention of the members of the research sample according to the variables (type, number of hours of play).

based on these findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions.
