Abstract EN

This research aims to answer the following questions: What is the concept of social philosophy? What theory does it offer about the relationship between values and facts? What is its relationship to philosophy, the humanities and social science? To this end, the paper examines the critical legacy of the Frankfurt School and the contemporary philosophical contributions associated with critique of modernity in order to define this new philosophical subject, namely Social Philosophy.

This subject is not to be viewed as an epistemology of social science, since it is not simply a descriptive study of scientific principles, or a philosophy of society, and is not limited to the study of social anthropology.

It is rather to be characterized as a process of linking description, interpretation, criteria of reality, theory and practice, from a critical perspective that is designed to achieve the values of enlightenment.
