Abstract EN

The current study aims to identify the superstitious beliefs of Baghdad university students; also, it aims to determine the significant differences among the superstitious beliefs in regard of students’ gender and the most superstitious beliefs of female and male university students.

To do this, the researcher designed a questionnaire to measure the superstitious beliefs among students based on the literature and survey questions were administered to a number of students.

A sample of (200) male and female students were chosen randomly from four different colleges at the University of Baghdad.

To analyze the collected data, independent Samples T-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, alpha Cronbach test, one sample t-test were used.

The results revealed that females believe in superstitious more than male do, no superstitious ideas among the students of the University of Baghdad at the level of (0.05).

Items number (14), (15), (24) got a greater percentage among the sample of study compared to the items number (29), (7), (8), which got less percentage among male.
