This study tries to exploit the mechanisms of pragmatism to reveal the characteristics of the discourse for the literary text.

The reason for the choice resides in the capacity of the method of pragmatics and more particularly DEIXIS elements of different types (personal, temporal, spatial) to form the structure of the novelistic discourse to relate it to the general context in which it interacts with it.

Therefore, this study will focus on clarifying the pragmatic dimensions of DEIXIS elements in Ibrahim AlKONY’S novel 'Bleeding the Stone' and demonstrate their ability to discover the hidden content of the novel.
