Abstract EN

Language is the only support and the basic material, in which people interact in their daily lives, and then it is the creator’s and writer’s means to express what is simmering in the soul of the desires and feelings and ideas.

It is the translator of its states at different levels.

It is also the only tool in reporting his ideas, viewpoints and their delivery.

Therefore, language occupies a distinct position in the literary text, especially the novel, the fact that the latter is "the language-based dramatic art"; narrative and dialogistic language.

However, it is clear that the traditional functional view of language has witnessed some transformations and changes in the twentieth century, specifically after it was launched from the idealistic lockup view, which dealt with it in a "horizontally flat" deal.

It became a tool and purpose/goal, means and finality; bearer and borne by and hence difficult to separate them.

Because language is context and relationships rather than mere lexical items, the creator comes to deal with it.

If the latter is creative and innovative, the language speaks in terms of significances not in its lexical items.
