Abstract EN

This study deals with the role of the novel in addressing the issues that connect the individual to the society in which he lives, through the narrative imaginary space of the novels of the contemporary Jordanian novelist "Qasim Tawfiq", where the structure of Arab society will be the scene of our study marked by the title (traditional values and the individual in Qasim Tawfiq novels).

our research focuses on the issue of the relationship of the individual to the intellectual and cultural system of societies based on ancient cultural heritage, petrified customs, and obsolete norms that are not applicable or operable.

the study will try to answer a number of questions such as: why is a female forced to wear the hijab early when they have not yet met the conditions? what are the reasons for patriarchal domination of the individual-female fate in particular, and the denial of the right to self-determination in marriage, learning, work, etc.

why do old traditional customs associate women's honor with flimsy considerations? why is the male ego inflated before the female ego?
