Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to shed light on the phenomenon of the spread of killing by putting poison during the Abbasid era, which is remarkable phenomenon, to get rid of opponents of power or to get revenge between the scientists and writers to remove and get rid of them , because of envy and jealousy or the mismatch of thoughts among themselves, the reason behind that was to be only the one who gains opportunity and high rank before of power and public alike.

the research has been divided into the research also included an introduction to the definition of poison and its meanings, also writings of doctors and their compositions of books and articles to identify poison and how to treat them through some useful antidotes two sections the first section dealt with some of those who were killed through treachery by their opponents and the spiteful against the men of power by putting poison to them.

it is not possible to mention all those who have been subjected to killing by putting poison during the period of research, because this requires several volumes to cover such topic, and almost all books mentioned at least one accident about the killing by putting poison.
