Abstract EN

The right of the imamate and its legitimacy represented as a concern for the caliphs of the sons of Abbas since the establishment of their state in an attempt to confront the opposing intellectual trends .

this is what motivated the caliphate to guide the jurists loyal to it to respond to the proposals contrary to it in an attempt to undermine caliphate on the one hand and to establish the legitimacy of the Abbasid Caliphate , of these Mohammed bin Mohammed al- Ghazali , who instructed by Abbasid Caliphate on the other hand , especially after the declaration of the fatimid Caliphate , of these Mohammed bin Mohammed al- Ghazali who instructed by Abbasid Caliph Almstathhir Billah (487 AH- 512 AH / 1904 – 1118 A.D) to accomplish this task .

therefore , the study dealt with the attitude of al- Ghazali from the political powers in his era , especially the Seljuk authority , and the Abbasid caliphate , as his visions were focused on alerting the sultans and their princes to subject their practices to the obligations of sharia law and he aimed to defend the Abbasid Caliphate and its sanctity and to deprive its opponents of any legitimacy.
