Abstract EN

The present study aimed at revealing the relationship between the perspective of the theory of linguistic relativity propounded by Edward Sapir and Benjamin Whorf and the views of Moslem scholar regarding their language and thought dialectic.

It has been found out that this perspective of linguistic relativism is sparsely present in the books of Islamic heritage with all the depth, precision and cognizance.

This research, therefore, set out to interrogate our ancient scholars, books in order to crystallize this idea therein, without resorting to interpretation and imposition of a contemporary mental perspective upon our heritage.

Such a juxtaposition is based on tracing the typical concepts of the theory of linguistic relativity and looking for their equivalents in the ancients, books.

That is because the concept and the subject matter are the same although they are expressed is different.

Thus, the integration between heritage and modernity is manifest in this theory
