This paper seeks to know the legal structure of journalism in Algeria and the formula addressed by the legislator and the status of professional journalist by analyzing the texts of the media legislation, which dealt with the beginning of the professional journalist law 1968 until the Media Law 2012 to highlight the most important rights of the journalist and his duties accordingly by explaining its relationship and its impact on the political and social conditions experienced by Algeria through various historical stages, finally I stand on the strengths of these laws and the gaps that have permeated them and continue to present challenges facing legislators and professionals in the press sector alike
