Abstract EN

This article pinpoints the challenges encountering the audio-visual sector in Algeria after the advent of the political plurality, since this sector was considered as a tool of sovereignty for marketing governmental speech and public indoctrination concerning the political and social project.

After the political and economic reforms at the end of 1980 of the previous century, a new legislation was in order to practice journalism which go hand by hand with the changes, consequently a new media law was issued in 1990, that has acknowledged a plural press, however this openness has not reached the audio-visual sector till 2012, and even though this law still stumbling in comparison to the press, so this article highlights the setbacks which hinder the laisser-faire in this sector
