Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the effect of a vocational rehabilitation program, which is based on plant production, on occupationally enabling persons with autism spectrum disorder in Jordan.

The sample consisted of (32) persons of autism spectrum disorders who are attending two special education centers in Amman.

The persons, who were purposefully selected, were divided randomly on two control and experimental groups where each group contained (16).

A plant production training program was designed with certain skills and procedures and its truthfulness indicators were ascertained for the purpose of the study.

Also, a tool was developed to measure the occupational skills of the plant production for the purpose of pre and post measurement after assuring its validity and reliability.

This program was implemented over a period of four months.

The results of ANCOVA showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.5) in the students' performance on the post-measurement in favor of the experimental group.

The study has ended with recommendations related to vocational rehabilitation programs for persons with the autism spectrum disorder.
