Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the level of reluctance among the female students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Mu'tah University with regard to practicing football refereeing as well as identifying the reasons why they refuse to practice it according to the study domains and identifying the differences in the reasons for which they refuse to referee football matches according to the variables of ( academic specialization, accumulative average, academic year, and the place of residence).

The researchers used the descriptive approach due to its compatibility to the study nature.

The study sample consisted of 100 female students from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Mu'tah University; with 51 Physical Education female students, and 49 sport rehabilitation female students who were chosen randomly.

The researcher used the questionnaire as the method of data collection; it consisted of five domains (psychological, social, academic, economic and physical).

The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze data.

The results showed that the level at which the female students at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Mu'tah University refuse to practice football refereeing was high, and that the level of their reluctance regarding the following domains (psychological, social, academic, economic and physical) was high.

The results showed that there are no statistically significant differences regarding the reasons of refusing to referee football according to the variables of (academic specialization, academic year, and the place of residence), while there are differences regarding accumulative average in favor of those with the estimation of very good.

The researchers recommend about the necessity of offering the course of football with all its levels as a compulsory course for the female students.
