Since it has shown its willingness to reform and its intention to modernize the structures and cultural systems engendered by itself, Arab reason has, each time, faced a situation that only aggravates its crisis.

And each time, the theme of "tradition and modernity" occupies the center of discussions in modern Arab thought.

The modernizing approach, which Arab thinkers have attempted to establish, has always been linked to the degree of reception of modernity, as a concept and vision of the world, by Arab reason.

The real embarrassment suffered by Arab reason lies in the divergence between the components of modernity and the values of Arab culture.
