Diabetes is a major public health problem.
In Tunisia, the situation is alarming with a prevalence of 12.2% in 2016.
The recommendations specified the detailed follow-up of uncomplicated diabetic patients.
The objective of this work was to analyze the compliance of family doctors with these good practice recommendations when monitoring type 2 diabetes.
This is an observational study that included 1287 patients who were followed by 40 family physicians.
The follow-up was regular with an average of 3.89 consultations per year.
The average age of the patients was 62.49 years old.
The majority of patients were on oral antidiabetic drugs.
Regarding the medical follow-up, the prevalence of patients who received the recommended examinations ranged from 0.4% to 14.3%.
Regarding the biological monitoring of HbA1c, fasting glucose and creatinine were required in 94% of patients each.
These results suggest that medical monitoring is insufficient for our patients and that biological monitoring is sufficient for only few tests

Le diabète est un problème majeur de santé publique.
En Tunisie, la situation est inquiétante avec une prévalence de 12,2% en 2016.
Les recommandations ont précisé le suivi détaillé des patients diabétiques non compliqués.
L' objectif de ce travail était l' analyse de l’observance des ces recommandations de bonne pratique par les médecins de familles lors du suivi des diabètiques de type 2.
Il s' agissait d' une étude observationnelle qui avait inclue 1287 patients qui étaient suivis par 40 médecins de famille.
Le suivi était régulier avec une moyenne de 3,89 consultations /an.
L'âge moyen des patients était de 62,49 ans.
La majorité des patients était sous antidiabétiques oraux.
Concernant le suivi médical, la prévalence des patients ayant bénéficié des examens recommandés variait entre 0,4% et 14,3%.
Concernant le suivi biologique l'HbA1c, la glycémie à jeun et la créatinine étaient chacune demandés chez 94 % des patients .
Ces résultats laissaient conclure que le suivi médical était insuffisant chez nos patients et que le suivi biologique était suffisant seulement pour quelques examens.
