This is a brief study of the reality of Islamic education in sub-Saharan Africa.
The study reveals that Islamic education is rooted in Africa, West, East and Central Africa, and has an extended heritage of about 1,000 years and that it was based on the Koran and its sciences and jurisprudence and the Arabic language and literature, which led to the enlightenment and spiritual renaissance, intellectual and scientific, and that the Islamic sciences written in the tongues of the people of this country in Arabic - but at a certain stage was unable to meet the challenges of modernity and missionary and colonial schools, Non- Sunni, such as Ismailia, Shi'a and Ahmadiyya.
But in the past decades, and with the advantage of establishment of the African Islamic Centre ,the Islamic Call Organization, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth and Direct Aid Society and the Islamic Call Society - Libya and its associations emerged a revival began to bear fruit among the Muslim minorities in Africa as well as throughout the Muslim Africa.
However, these blessed efforts still need follow-up, coordination and improvement until the requirements of origin and age are met
