Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to investigate the nature of the press treatment of the urban development issues of Algerian cities and urban communities by the Algerian private press through "Al Shorouq daily".

The research followed the survey method with quantitative and qualitative content analysis tool.

The results showed that the Algerian press pays great attention to the issues of urban development, and uses the news method in a major way, without paying attention to the analytical and interpretive aspect in dealing with these issues.

It relies on its internal sources to obtain its media material.

As the strongest active in this area, was Local Administration.

And the opposition trend has overtaken some policies that did not produce good results in the field of urban development.
