The settlers enjoyed a range of privileges and powers, France’s goal of encouraging settlement was to make Algeria an integral part of France, and with the outbreak of the Liberation Revolution, these settlers feared the loss of the gains and privileges they had achieved.

In Algeria, by focusing on the status of these European settlers as a social group alien to the Algerian society and possessed power and influence, as well as to address their position on the Algerian revolution and the methods adopted by them to confront and try to eradicate them.
