Abstract EN

The study area was determined by the sedimentary velocity of Basrah Governorate.

Three climatic stations were selected for the study, namely Qurna station to the north, Abi Al-Khasib station in the center and Al-Faw station in the south.

The objective of the study was to determine the effect of climatic factors on the water parameters of crops grown in the region.

And the attempt to detect the absence of significant spatial variation between these elements within the spatial distribution of the three selected climate stations, The tomato crop was selected as a model under study.

The results of the study showed that there is no significant spatial variation in the values of the climatic elements, and therefore there is no difference in the requirements of the water requirements of the cultivated crops in the three areas studied.

By applying the modified Benman equation to calculate the possible evaporation/transpiration, which is the basis in the calculation of water needs, because it is one of the most accurate experimental equations used in this field in dry and semi-arid regions.
