Abstract EN

During the seventies of the last century, Turkey suffered from highly critical and dangerous problems and crises on the political, economic and social level.

Violence, murder and terrorism prevailed all over Turkey under the radical right and left parties.

Throughout these circumstances, Turkey suffered an economic crisis reflected by the inflation and the increase of foreign debts besides the exacerbation of unemployment where the economic crisis reached its climax in 1978.

On the light of what is preceded, it is possible to be aware of the economic crisis in Turkey during the seventies with more light is shed on the influence of interior and exterior factors.

Moreover, the position of the Turkish right political parties about the crisis, taking into consideration that the Justice and National Security and the nationalistic Movement are parts in the political process, which formed a coalition government.

Notwithstanding, all the plans and programs presented by these parties had no utility in finding a solution for the economic crisis with the deterioration of the security situation.

The 12th September 1980 coup d>etat put an end to a certain extent to the problems from which Turkey suffered under the incompetence of the Turkish governments to find appropriate solutions.
