Abstract EN

The purpose of teaching the Arabic language, like any other foreign language, is the empowerment of students to establish linguistic interaction clearly and accurately in speaking and writing.

Linguistic interaction can occur between speaker, listener, writer and reader.

Therefore, listening skills play a significant role among linguistics skills.

Since the curriculum structure is influenced by the variable needs and the training condition of English teaching institutes, one of the ways to strengthen the listening skills is changing the curriculum.

The present study focuses on the importance of listening skill by assessing the degree of weakness of the listening skills and paying attention to the most important elements of the curriculum.

It aims to improve the training procedure by developing the teaching method, training instruments, the scientific content of language laboratories, books and courses evaluation techniques.

The current paper seeks to identify the degree of the effects of the most important elements of a curriculum on strengthening listening skill.

In this regard, descriptive analytical method is used to discover (find) students’ interests.

The statistical sampling of this research consists of 72 undergraduate degree students of Arabic language and literature at the University of Tehran and Kharazmi during the second academic semester of 1397.

The sampling is selected randomly.

Questionnaire is used to collect the data and the data is analysed by SPSS.

The result of the current study revealed the weakness of listening skills which is caused due to the lack of curriculum elements at the University.
