The Ottoman navy, suffered a setback in the Battle of Lepant ,but the Algerian navy on the contrary was more famous for the Mediterranean than before .The 17 th century was the Golden Age of the Algerian Navy in modem times.

The rulers of Algeria imposed the prestige of the state through the naval fleet.

European countries, the largest of which, or which were emirates to have had relations with Algeria in the framework of the protection of trade, while we have been organized in military alliances as well as to undermine them.
