Abstract EN

The Tunisian contemporary history has the focus of not only historian researchs, but also its fans.

Therefore, a lot has been written about it from those people.

The political and social history has thus, been among those areas that attracted the concern of academians.

That was mainly since 1958 when the Tunisian University was founded.

Ever since the 1980’s, an elite of researchers has tackled the issue of studying the economic history of the country.

As such, a new area of concern and research has emerged and consequently a new style and way of writing history in Tunisia.

In spite of the importance of what has been produced in this field, none of which focus on what has been written in economic Tunisian history.

This article aims to study the Tunisian historiography and the field of economic history.

It is concerned with several issues such as sources, research and academic production in this field.
