Abstract EN

This study aimed to test the effectiveness of counseling program in improving the quality of life for families of children with special needs.

The sample consisted of 12 women (N = 6 control group and N = 6 experimental group) aged between 20-50 years old.

All the participants have direct contact with the special need’s children, and their ages ranged from up to 10 years of age.

Assessments were used to measure quality-of-life for the family members of the special needs’ children.

This investigation employees a quasi-experimental methodology, with the counseling program as the dependent variable and the level of quality-of-life as an independent variable.

The results show that there is deference between the control and experimental groups based on the quality-of-life scale, the results also showed that there is deference between the pre- test and post- test in the experimental group according to the scale dimensions.
