The problem of the study is the rapid spread of the drug abuse phenomenon in Maysan province as a real threat to its youth, and its importance comes in the attempt of researchers to identify the size and types of the phenomenon, and identify the causes of spread, and the best ways to fight and reduce them.

The study was conducted on a sample of 100 inmates at the central prison of drug addicts and drug addicts.

The researchers relied on the questionnaire, in-depth interviews and observation, especially after asking questions.

The researchers reached several conclusions, the most important of which are: 1.

Drug abuse and its spread is a real problem in Maysan province.

Most abusers are actually unemployed.

The most important reasons are the weakness of awareness and family, and the economic and social transformations caused by wars, displacement and unemployment.
